Bloomin’ Marvellous : 6

Flowers are great, but they often need a little greenery for us to fully appreciate their form and colour, and allow for maximum impact. This is also true of embroidered blooms, so here are some leaves to provide the neutral backdrop that'll allow your blooms to "pop".

I've stuck to just two shades of green so as not to detract from the blooms, but used textured stitches to create interest. And of course you can use any stitches you like – using chain for all the leaves, for instance, would create a similar effect.

If you're unsure how to do any of the stitches I've used, go to the useful links page on my website for stitching books and online stitch libraries.
